Our Staff
Dr. Rhonda Switzer graduated from the dental program at the University of Manitoba in 1991. Since then, she has spent her career overseeing dental programs for the poor. She served as head of dentistry at a fly-in health center in the sub-arctic location of Churchill, Manitoba. She also worked as a staff dentist for the Department of Health in Hamilton, Bermuda where she treated children of low-income families, people with mental disabilities, and people in nursing homes and prisons.
Dr. Switzer became the first employee of the Interfaith Dental Clinic in Nashville, Tennessee in 1995 and has served as the Executive Director since. During her tenure, the clinic has grown from a two-chair operation located in a church basement to a ten-chair clinic with a staff of 22, providing more than $2.5 million in care each year in an expanded 7,500 square foot facility. She is an avid sportswoman with a 3 golf handicap and a top scorer in her co-ed ice hockey team.
Amy joined the leadership team of Interfaith Dental Clinic in July 2007. She has 15 years of experience in fundraising, special events, grant writing and marketing for nonprofit organizations. Amy holds a degree in Mass Communication from Western Kentucky University.
Lauren Wright joined our development team in January, 2012. She comes to Interfaith from Sewanee: The University of the South where she served as a major gifts officer and prospect researcher in the University’s most recent $207.5M capital campaign. During her tenure at Sewanee, she also worked as project director for The Babson Center for Global Commerce, the University’s business minor program. Lauren is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, she is a graduate of Trinity University (San Antonio, TX), and enjoys spending time with her two children, Blake and Emory-Jane.
Gracey joined our leadership staff in January 2010, bringing with her many years of experience in business operations, facility management, human resources and financial management. Gracey and her husband Terrell have long been supporters of Interfaith’s mission, and she considers her employment with the clinic an added blessing.
Dr. Carlisle joined our staff in June of 2010. She is a graduate from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and completed a year of residency in advanced general dentistry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. During her residency, she performed full mouth rehabilitations, and completed rotations in emergency medicine, general anesthesia, pediatric dentistry, and advancedgeneral clinical dentistry. Dr. Carlisle is a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and the Nashville Dental Society.
Susan joined Interfaith Dental Clinic in August 2004. She is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, and has more than 16 years of experience as an office manager for a private dental practice. Susan’s favorite part of her job is working with a dedicated staff that shares a common goal to give our patients healthy smiles.
Dr. Sparrow graduated from the University of Tennessee Dental School in 2000. She has eight years of experience in private and public practice, including two years with Indian Health Services on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico and four years with the Metro Nashville Public Health Department. Dr. Sparrow is a member of The Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and The Millennium Dental Study Club. She joined the Interfaith Dental Clinic team in June 2009.
Dr. Coulter joined the Interfaith Dental Clinic team in May 2010. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1971, and the University of Tennessee Dental School in 1983. He brings more than 25 years of private practice experience to our team. Dr. Coulter and his wife have one son and are active in their church and community.
Dr. Murrell joined the Interfaith Dental Clinic team in June of 2009. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 2006 and has more than five years of experience in private and public practice. Dr. Murrell is a member of The Millennium Dental Study Club, The Nashville Dental Society, The Tennessee Dental Association and The American Dental Association.
Kristin joined our leadership team in July 2011. Her background includes 8 years of experience in volunteer and non-profit support in Nashville and Atlanta. Kristin is a passionate volunteer for several area non-profit organizations, and an active member of Belmont United Methodist Church.
