Patient Stories
Nickye’s Story
When Nickye moved to Mt. Juliet several years ago, she got a job working at
Cracker Barrel.
“I loved my job, but I had to get up every morning and say ‘I am not going to be
embarrassed today.’ I would always wonder, ‘what are my customers going to
think of me?’ Most of my customers were actually really nice.”
“I knew I needed to do something about my teeth. I had lost my dental insurance
when I got divorced at 34. I just never had the money to get stuff done.
I had problems with abscessed teeth and was in a lot of pain. I kept getting
infections that wouldn’t go away. Right before I came here I actually ended up
in the emergency room. They had prescribed some pain killers to help. I wanted
to get things fixed and had been saving my tips, but it was just so
expensive. Then someone at work told me about the Interfaith Dental Clinic.”
Nickye enrolled at Interfaith and was delighted to find out her saved tips go
much further since she receives an 80% discount on services. “JoAnn laughs at
me because I always pay in $1 bills."
Nickye had several extensions, several root canals, some crowns and a set of top
dentures.
As Nickye puts it, “I have so much more confidence now. I look forward to
talking to customers. Everybody at work loves my teeth. And the best
thing is that I can laugh more. I love to laugh.”
