Marc’s Story
Thirty-seven years ago, Marc was in a terrible car accident the night of his senior prom which knocked six front teeth out.
Marc was still suffering from pain and deterioration from this accident. After a hand injury ended his musical career,
he suffered a heart attack.
“The accident, the heart attack, everything just resulted in a financial spiral,” says Marc. “
I’ve been a single parent for 13 years so dental work was out of the question for me,”
At the Interfaith Dental Clinic, Marc pays on a sliding fee scale, meaning $8,800 worth of dental
services will cost him just $1,780 - making dental care affordable for him for
the first time in more than a decade. Even though he is just half-way through his treatment, Marc
already notices a huge difference.
“When you live with pain, your brain resets itself.
Handling the pain becomes normal,” explains Marc. “When you don’t have it
anymore, you realize how much energy you were using to control it.
I am already amazed at how much energy I have now.”
At the end of his visit, Marc paused, teared up, and said he had one more thing to say.
“I just really want to say thanks to all the people that made this place possible. It is really making things better.”
