Patient Stories
Frances’s Story
Even though she had experience as a legal secretary, Frances found herself working at a fast–food restaurant.
In fact, the restaurant wouldn’t even give her direct contact with the customers. They kept her in the back cooking.
“My teeth were in such bad shape, I knew getting an office job would be hard.”
Frances was trying to make a new start, and she knew her teeth were one of the first things
she had to fix. She attended the clinic’s application workshop and made immediate changes in her oral hygiene
habits.
“I had been consuming a lot of Dr. Pepper while working at a fast-food place.
I knew my teeth had been rapidly deteriorating, but I didn’t know why.
I stopped drinking so much Dr. Pepper.
I am down to less than one soft drink a day.”
A few months after she started the program, Frances got her temporary bridge in the front and
knew she was ready to interview. “It just made a huge difference.”
Frances got one of the first jobs she interviewed for.
She is once again using her skills as a trained legal assistant.
Thanks to her new job, Frances has just purchased a home and a car— “the first reliable transportation I have ever had!”
