Doris’s Story
Hello everyone, I am Doris Smith. My husband and I live in Smyrna and we have been patients of the Interfaith Dental Clinic for the past year.
Like so many seniors, we live on a very tight budget and we have to watch every penny. Our dental care unfortunately, has had to take a back seat to our other needs. I was forced by pain into a dental office last year and received an emergency root canal. I had large gaps in my mouth from missing teeth and I was in need of both upper and lower partial dentures.
I simply did not have the means to get them. My dentist here in town assessed my situation and referred me to the Interfaith Dental Clinic.
My husband and I both applied to the program and were accepted. I cannot tell you what an amazing experience it has been for us. What I love about the clinic is that even though it is for the working poor and the elderly, they make you feel good regardless of your financial situation. They always welcome us with open arms from the front desk all the way to the back. They have become like family. They have made us feel at home there.
My husband and I have learned a lot through this program. We both brush and floss twice a day and make a great effort to maintain the work that has been done for us because we are so appreciative.
We recently celebrated out 50th wedding anniversary and it was such a pleasure be able to smile for our pictures. We brought them in to the clinic for all of the staff to see. You don’t realize the importance of your smile until it is taken away. The Interfaith Dental Clinic has given me back my self confidence and my ability to smile. I simply could not have asked for a better experience!
